SUPPORT THE MEDIA JUSTICE DELEGATION TO ATTEND THE WORLD SUMMIT ON INFORMATION SOCIETY 2005. |
This year, Third World Majority is embarking on an ambitious voyage to take communication rights global by attending the United Nations World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) conference in Tunis, November 2005. Third World Majority is taking the largest delegation from North America, and the only delegation that is comprised of intergenerational, grassroots organizers representing 30 organizations from 12 states across the nation.
The goals of the this historic delegation are to:
Join us in supporting this incredible delegation. Your support for Communication Rights- the belief that all people should have the freedom to share information, a freedom to our own opinions and expression, as well as the right to freedom of association, the right to privacy and the right to our own culture- is more important than ever before. The lightening rise of global capitalism and the ownership of communication and knowledge is threatening the languages, cultures, religions, traditional knowledge, identities and ways of being for many people around the world. The channels for distribution are narrowing on a daily basis, with governments and corporate entities locking out the voices of cultural expression and non-traditional worldviews.
Become part of the Media Justice and Communication Rights struggle. Support the Third World Majority delegation to WSIS. Upon their return, the delegation will host report backs around the nation, to continue the work to build a national and global movement for Communication Rights and Media Justice.
