RE: REQUEST FOR SUPPORT
To all our allies, friends and supporters:
This is Thenmozhi Soundararajan, Executive Director of Third World Majority (TWM), writing you in the hopes that you can support our important organizing
work at the World Social Forum in Mumbai, India this 16-21 January 2004. Any amount given in support will not only allow us to continue our organizing
work
around Media Justice, but will also be an important contribution towards global social justice. TWM is providing communications and documentation support for
the Grassroots Global Justice (GGJ) delegation, one of the largest North American grassroots delegations attending the World Social Forum This delegation is
solely made up of membership organizations that are frontline resistors to corporate globalization in the United States. This includes organizations working on
issues like environmental, racial, and economic justice, labor unions and more. As one of the few women of color media and technology groups at the Forum,
we were committed to supporting and disseminating the documentation and media production work of our fellow delegates. However, with minimal operating
funds
for our own organization, it has been a challenge to cover all our costs for travel, attendance and participation to the Forum. A gift contribution now will
support crucial expenses and the larger organizing work of TWM at the Forum. These include our costs related to our video, radio, and media messaging trainings,
Web site development, ISP costs, tape stock, Web space, staffing, shipping, and training materials. Further, your donation would afford us the opportunity to network
and build relationships between social movements in the U.S. and those at an international level, for a global vision of Media Justice.
