Facilitative Production: TWM provides consulting support to organizations seeking to define and share their story and mission. This includes identifying audiences, script development, and appropriate medium to tell your story (Web, digital story, etc.), as well as appropriate training to facilitate leaders within organizations to drive the production process. This is an important part of our leadership program for young women of color because it offers many of our upcoming young women the opportunity to build valuable consulting experience within a non-profit consulting context. One example of this was the TWM piece commissioned by the Funders Network on Trade and Globalization titled, “Another World is Possible: North American Voices at the World Social Forum”. This video was supported by the Funders Network that brought 100 North American community-based organizations to experience, organize, and learn from the World Social Forum in Porto Alegre, Brazil in 2002. Another example of this is TWM’s spring 2003 residency with Sista IISista and DRUM in New York, in which TWM staff are working with both organizations to develop contextual relevant and culturally specific curriculum modules around political youth film production. This curriculum will be piloted in films that both organizations will make around violence against young women of color and INS detentions respective to the work of each organization.
